Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Technical leader experienced in execution of large scale projects from 0 to 1.
• Experience partnering with product managers and designers for user-facing products.
• Ability to solve complex system scaling and latency performance problems.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration in a remote environment.
• Extensive software development experience in one or more languages: Python, Golang, Rust, Java, C++.
• Experience with infrastructure observability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the backend infrastructure serving ads to Reddit users.
• Architect and implement scalable solutions that can handle the growing number of users and advertising campaigns.
• Collaborate with other teams and third-party services for ad serving pipeline integration.
• Continuously monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Oversee data storage, retrieval, and indexing for fast access to creative materials.
• Work with ML engineers and Data Scientists for seamless communication between backend and creative management.
• Provide mentorship to engineers, promoting learning and innovation.
• Identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
