Staff Platform Engineer

Requirements:

• Proven expert in the technical delivery, architecting, developing, and maintaining of cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS or GCP and automating infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of continuous integration/delivery using Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or similar.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Experience in development and scripting.
• Knowledge of alerting and monitoring tooling.
• Experience in Disaster response, resilient systems engineering, and security automation.
• Understanding of cloud security and systems hardening.
• Broad understanding of effective cost management as a key component of cloud platform administration.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate with less-technical staff.
• Desire to mentor junior teammates.

Responsibilities:

• Bringing a strong technical leadership to the overall strategy and direction of the cloud platform.
• Building out an effective, modular platform leveraging modern infrastructure as code patterns.
• Creating effective CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Ensuring identity and access management for security.
• Working cross-functionally to migrate existing infrastructure.
• Tracking and optimizing cloud spend.
• Building processes and culture around resilient systems.
• Enabling product teams to manage their own infrastructure.
• Building out an effective High Availability/Disaster Recovery approach.
• Helping with strategic challenges in the technical landscape.
• Creating secure by default approaches on the platform.
• Amplifying best practices through education and evangelism.
