Requirements:

• You probably have a degree in a STEM subject, but we’re happy to work with people who perfected their craft via a different route.
• Have 3+ years of experience working at a similar level in a mature Engineering team.
• Technical expertise working with at least one frontend framework, ideally React, as well as experience working on backend systems (Kotlin and a bit of Ruby).
• Proven track record: You’ve made a demonstrable impact in your previous roles.
• Highly driven and proactive: You relentlessly push through hurdles and drive towards excellent outcomes.
• Meticulous: You hold high standards and have an obsessive attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Design solutions: Define the best technical solutions to business problems, contributing to an architectural vision that will scale up to be the world's leading research platform.
• Ship working code: Work primarily with React on the frontend and Kotlin microservices with Postgres on the backend, with some older services written in Ruby on Rails. Assess new technologies that might improve the stack.
• Deploy and iterate: Release frequently to customers and quickly gather feedback to inform the next iteration.
• Build your competency: Learn quickly by building market-leading technology with experienced colleagues in a high performance environment. Use L&D budget to fast-track development of specific technical competencies.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting: Monitor services, catch errors before they affect users, diagnose root causes, and deploy fixes.
