Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building E-commerce products.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience building scalable systems (primarily using Python, Elixir, JavaScript).
• Experience leading engineers to deliver significant business impact.
• Proven track record of delivering features and known for shipping products and features quickly.
• Excellent cross-functional team communication skills.
• Good product instincts, focusing first on users rather than the technical solution.
• Self-motivated, with a focus on impact, and able to operate independently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and able to work without needing exact instructions.
• Good communication skills in both written and verbal English.

Responsibilities:

• Growth engineers at Whatnot are responsible for expanding the new user funnel across buyers and sellers to accelerate the rapid growth of the marketplace.
• Focus on the full funnel, developing opportunities to grow traffic across multiple channels while creating delightful new user experiences to activate and retain buyers and sellers.
• Build out the core incentivized buyer growth strategy, including gamified incentives and offer experiences.
• Lead engineers to design and implement the core incentive management system from the ground up.
• Prioritize the highest impact features and ship them quickly.
• Research and find new opportunities to drive the product direction.
