Requirements:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 8 – 11 years of experience as a Labor & Employment attorney, including work at a major law firm
  • Expert substantive knowledge of major US employment and labor laws and regulations, particularly California and Canada are a plus.
  • Significant experience in HR-related investigations and management of investigations.
  • Experiences that demonstrate a process-oriented mindset and ability to scale subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide practical and timely guidance and support to US OpCos on federal, state, and local employment laws including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
  • Support and advise the Corporate HR Labor and Employee Relations Center of Excellence on HR-related investigations, overseeing third-party investigators.
  • Manage and drive completion of L&E related projects, including internal compliance reviews.
  • Design and implement turn-key Labor & Employment legal solutions that embed best practice and legal compliance for scalability across OpCos.
  • Manage employment-related adversarial matters including agency charges and litigation, develop strategy for resolution, prepare position statements, oversee outside counsel, and ensure effective proactive legal advice.
