Requirements:
- Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.) and local licensing.
- 10+ years of legal experience, ideally with experience in multiple jurisdictions.
- 5+ years of in-house privacy compliance experience.
- Experience managing a successful privacy compliance program in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of global privacy laws relevant to tech platforms.
- Excellent legal drafting and writing skills.
- Experience partnering with regulators, particularly in Europe.
- Program/project management skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across time zones.
Responsibilities:
- Support Reddit’s global privacy compliance program.
- Provide advice and counsel to ensure compliance with legal obligations under US, EU and other legal frameworks.
- Implement and maintain privacy policies and processes.
- Partner with product and technical teams to design and implement privacy controls.
- Manage discussions and negotiations with government and regulators.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for privacy and data protection.
- Investigate privacy and security issues in collaboration with technical teams.
