Requirements:

• BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Instructional Design, or equivalent.
• Technical Communication certification and evidence of continuing education.
• Six to ten years in technical writing in a software development environment, preferably in healthcare.
• Understanding of US healthcare vocabulary and regulations.
• Experience with enterprise-level content management systems and structured authoring tools.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Fully understands the product delivery life cycle and monitors documentation progress within it.
• Plans, writes, and performs development tasks for complex documentation deliverables.
• Develops guides for end users and administrators, ensures documentation standards, and documents application process workflows.
• Gathers information through various research avenues to develop accurate documentation.
• Mentors and trains less experienced writers, shows leadership by being a project lead.
• Prepares special reports and keeps stakeholders informed of project progress.
