Requirements:

• 2-3 years of management experience at a software-focused company.
• Senior-level software engineering skills.
• Experience in a regulated industry with sensitive data, preferably in retail.
• Commitment to the management track and high expectations for self and team.
• Courage to address challenging managerial situations.
• Interest in developing management skills.
• Confidence to provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Passion for solving problems for everyday people.
• Bachelor's degree or similar experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a small team of software engineers focused on categorizing items sold in retailers.
• Commit code and review PRs, requiring hands-on experience in golang or similar languages.
• Define work breakdown and plan to deliver quality products on time.
• Report directly to the CTO as part of a high-performing engineering staff.
• Lead efficient weekly meetings respecting engineering time-to-build.
• Understand team motivations and create opportunities for growth.
• Participate in a healthy production culture with balanced on-call requirements.
• Deliver features to production safely via continuous delivery.
