Requirements:

• Law degree from a nationally accredited U.S. law school preferred.
• 7-10 years' work experience in U.S. commercial loan origination, preferably real estate collateralized.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state commercial lending laws.
• Working knowledge of financial institution laws and real property recording systems.
• Excellent organizational, communication skills, and English fluency.
• Strong legal research skills and able to handle multiple projects.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all legal and regulatory aspects of the loan origination process.
• Liaise with relevant departments and external parties such as applicants and title companies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide required legal advice and guidance.
• Prepare, review and negotiate loan documents.
• Negotiate opinion letters and review title reports/commitments.
• Manage time-sensitive deadlines and conduct post-closing reviews.
• Address origination matters in coordination with non-performing loans.
• Review data output of Loan Origination System and real estate title.
• Prepare closing document packages and DMV documentation.
• Schedule delivery and execution of closing documents and conduct pre-funding reviews.
• Implement policies for consistency in quality and deliver documentation for loan setup.
