Requirements:

• 10+ years experience in Linux systems engineering supporting bare metal servers.
• Experience in public cloud and physical data centers using IaC tools.
• Proficiency in building and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Automation of Linux boot environments using PXE, TFTP, and Kickstart.
• Ability to automate effectively in simple ways (scripts, config management, CI pipelines).
• Solid understanding of networking and storage technologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document processes clearly.
• Experience supporting customer-facing SaaS products.
• Willingness to tackle new and complex problems independently.
• Ability to prioritize and focus on impactful improvements.
• High standards in communication, feedback, and operational excellence.
• Technologies: CentOS/Rocky Linux, Rancher RKE2, Longhorn, MinIO, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, AWS, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, Nginx.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate highly-available Kubernetes-based infrastructure for a hybrid cloud platform.
• Automate bare-metal Linux-based host provisioning across various colocation environments.
• Create self-service interfaces to simplify service delivery on bare metal hosts.
• Optimize system and cluster performance, including power and network dynamics.
• Forecast capacity increases to support engineering teams and meet budget targets.
• Provide thought leadership on DevOps and Platform Engineering system designs.
• Mentor engineers in a collaborative manner and lead by example.
• Join an on-call rotation with team members.
