Requirements:

• At-least 2 years managing a creative or editorial team, ideally in audio.
• Journalism degree or equivalent editorial experience.
• Experience coaching creative and editorial talent effectively.
• Strong understanding of compelling podcast content.
• Knowledge of creating great daily newsletters and short-form articles.
• Thoughtful and inclusive approach to leadership and mentorship.
• Creative instincts and clear communication of ideas.
• Experience producing podcasts.
• Experience working on a daily turnaround.
• Experience in a remote-first organization.

Responsibilities:

• Help the city teams improve podcasts and newsletters for success.
• Ensure compliance with editorial, quality, and style standards.
• Disseminate key content insights and best practices across the network.
• Provide regular constructive feedback to city teams.
• Collaborate with Executive Producers on creative story development.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of newsletters and web articles.
• Interpret show and newsletter data to identify trends.
• Develop successful membership campaigns with local editorial teams.
• Create distinctive sponsorship packages with revenue team.
• Mentor Executive Producers through management challenges.
• Lead hiring processes during new show launches.
• Assist teams with marketing daily episodes and newsletters.
• Act as a liaison across city teams and HQ.
• Innovate and shape the future of local journalism with the CCO.
• Foster an inclusive work environment and hold staff accountable.
• Recognize and reward high performance.
• Create an open communication culture within the team.
