Requirements:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong understanding of financial principles.
• Previous team management experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero and FreeAgent).
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A recognized bookkeeping or accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ICB) is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the team of bookkeepers at The Backroom.
• Assign and prioritize workloads, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to team members.
• Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and provide updates.
• Oversee the bookkeeping workflow, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Review and approve work completed by team members before submission.
• Act as the main point of contact for complex client queries.
• Ensure high-quality service delivery and build strong client relationships.
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare accounts to trial balance.
• Reconcile bank accounts and manage payroll where required.
• Identify areas for improvement in processes and ensure compliance.
