Requirements:

• 5 - 9+ years of industry experience with a BS/Masters or 2+ years with a PhD.
• Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects with experienced engineers.
• Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings.
• Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong ownership and experience in building and operating high-scale, distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and solid debugging skills.
• Passionate about developer productivity.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for building the technical strategy and evolving Airbnb’s developer infrastructure.
• Directly influence core metrics such as Developer Experience, Developer Velocity, Debuggability, Resilience, and Reliability.
• Partner with engineering leaders across Airbnb teams for adoption of new capabilities.
• Ensure code quality and operational excellence as a player/coach to the team.
• Deliver secure, efficient, mature, and highly available frameworks.
• Optimize existing systems/services for better performance.
• Apply best practices to systematically improve availability.
• Work collaboratively to build the foundation for Airbnb’s technical growth.
