Requirements:

• JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership, with at least 5 years of legal experience.
• Experience in life sciences technology transactions (diagnostic, medical device, CRO, biotech or pharma) is required.
• Law firm training in technology transactions practice is strongly preferred.
• Patent bar and project management experience preferred.
• Exceptional legal drafting skills with an affinity for using language to achieve compromise.
• Strong ability to analyze complex business and legal issues/risks to advance practical solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented approach with a business and client focus.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for research collaboration agreements, license agreements, and invention harvesting.
• Manage patent portfolio and assist with freedom-to-operate analyses and IP litigation.
• Partner closely with R&D, support contracting for R&D collaborations, and build out the patent program.
• Lead patent committee meetings and manage outside IP counsel.
• Provide overflow support for Contracts Counsel.
