Requirements:
  • Experience in a technical leadership position and in team management.
  • Experience building and monitoring systems in distributed cloud environments, ideally AWS.
  • Strong understanding of Computer Engineering fundamentals as they apply to the modern web.
  • Hands-on experience in both front-end (JavaScript) and back-end (ideally Java) development.
  • Familiarity with templating languages is a plus.
  • Ability to guide and mentor team members, enhancing collaboration and learning.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team (3 to 5 engineers) focused on building and extending systems for web page bootstraps.
  • Accountability for team delivery and ongoing improvements.
  • Partner with Product to shape the technical roadmap, balancing outcomes with technical excellence.
  • Contribute directly to coding and technical tasks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet Canva's needs as the platform grows.
  • Set technical direction through research and advocacy of design choices.
