Requirements:

• At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Experience with Card products and scaling such products.
• Strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes.
• Execution-focused mindset capable of navigating ambiguity and delivering results.
• Balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
• Experience with multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on capability in writing/reviewing code or technical documents.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage full-stack engineering teams for feature and infrastructure development.
• Coach direct reports to impact the organization and support their career growth.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to create a quarterly roadmap.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex projects.
• Make architectural decisions and foster a culture of high-quality code.
• Ensure successful delivery and operation of distributed systems at scale.
• Recruit exceptional engineers aligned with Coinbase's culture.
• Take ownership of engineering quality processes and SLAs.
