Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of underwriting or related insurance experience required.
• CPCU, CIC, CRIS, Property & Casualty Brokers License a plus.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to quickly learn industry-specific software.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
• Strong desire to learn and explore new ideas.
• Ability to be flexible and embrace change.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to underwriting guidelines and execute underwriting and pricing strategies.
• Approve or decline insurance applications and issue coverage.
• Review risk characteristics on applications, renewals, and change requests.
• Ensure compliance with industry and government regulations.
• Document underwriting files including risk analysis and pricing justification.
• Offer recommendations to reduce exposure to risk.
• Cultivate relationships with assigned producers.
• Collaborate closely with the underwriting team.
• Utilize databases to gather data for submissions and leverage software to compare risks.
• Respond to customer needs with tailored guidance.
• Process accounts from approved quotes to policy issuance.
• Recommend ideas for program development and process improvement.
• Assist in the development of the Underwriting team.
