Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding.
• Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Understanding of medical billing processes and reimbursement methodologies.
• Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations, including CMS and AMA guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in coding.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Associate's degree in health information management or a related field.
• Certification in medical coding, such as CPC or CCS (preferred).

Responsibilities:

• Review medical documentation and accurately assign appropriate codes based on established coding guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations and payer guidelines.
• Research and stay updated on coding and reimbursement changes, guidelines, and regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other coding professionals to resolve coding and documentation issues.
• Audit medical records and coding to identify potential coding issues and areas for improvement.
• Provide education and training to healthcare providers on coding best practices and documentation requirements.
• Assist with coding-related queries and appeals, as needed.
