Fire Engineer - Litigation Specialist

Requirements:

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant area.
• 4/5 years post-qualification experience in Fire Safety.
• Experience in building construction design regarding fire safety, specifically in residential and commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of relevant fire safety design codes.
• Preferred in-house experience or background with a fire engineering or architectural firm.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Strong general construction experience.
• Enthusiasm to innovate.
• Client-facing experience with an ability to interpret and respond to client needs.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting site-based investigations to record evidence.
• Reviewing technical documentation that may include manuals and maintenance records.
• Consulting relevant standards, regulations, and other published guidance.
• Providing clients with timely verbal and/or written advice in layperson's terms.
• Preparing reports for Court proceedings, either brief or detailed.
• Attending client meetings to discuss investigations.
• Meeting with opposing experts during the litigation process.
• Eventually providing expert witness evidence in Court.
