Assistant Controller

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 10+ years of experience in accounting.
• 5+ years experience in leading an accounting team and function.
• Public Accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced accounting department.
• Netsuite experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure general ledger is accurately reconciled on a regular basis.
• Review financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Recommend changes to prevent fraud and ensure policy adherence.
• Implement and refine accounting systems to enhance efficiency.
• Act as a key resource for organizational process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements.
• Liaise with external auditors for year-end reporting.
• Coach and mentor accounting staff.
