Requirements:

• JD and a member of a relevant U.S. state bar in good standing.
• Ability to obtain status as registered in-house counsel in California if required.
• At least 8+ years of law firm and in-house experience.
• Experience counseling technology product teams on privacy-related issues.
• Prior experience managing a team and operating at various levels.
• Expertise in global privacy compliance and emerging regulations.
• Counseling experience on intellectual property issues related to data use.
• Experience managing and developing attorneys and compliance professionals.
• Ability to communicate effectively across business and technical teams.
• Self-initiative and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Builder mentality with a collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Be the company’s go-to privacy expert and resource.
• Manage a team of privacy and product counsel and privacy analysts.
• Advise teams on compliance with laws and customer requirements.
• Build the product and privacy counseling function within the legal team.
• Develop privacy compliance programs that adapt to global regulations.
• Design and implement processes to improve legal team engagement.
• Support commercial legal functions regarding privacy-related contracting.
• Develop training materials for product and business teams.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments to mitigate future risks.
• Serve as a general deputy for Legal team matters.
