Requirements:

• At least 8+ years of Software Engineering experience building developer tools & ecosystems or doing language design.
• Expert understanding of the JS ecosystem.
• Comfortable in a C++ codebase.
• Production Rust experience.
• A keen sense of what a good developer experience looks like.
• A willingness to learn and mentor others.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and empathy skills.

Responsibilities:

• Focus on Fastly’s Javascript SDK & the StarlingMonkey JS runtime.
• Implement the latest JavaScript and WinterCG standards for StarlingMonkey.
• Work on language-specific SDKs for Wasm, enhancing feature completeness and performance.
• Collaborate with open source communities.
• Contribute to language runtimes for Wasm like StarlingMonkey or the Python runtime.
• Coordinate and communicate with team members and across technical/product teams.
• Conduct code reviews and improve the codebase and team processes.
• Manage projects from a technical lead role, driving progress and communicating status.
