Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a data or software engineer, with hands-on experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience in project management or equivalent.
- 4+ years of professional experience managing individual contributors in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with blockchain or Web3 technologies and understanding of decentralized systems is a nice to have.
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones is a nice to have.
- Exposure to monitoring and data quality tools to ensure integrity and reliability of data pipelines is a nice to have.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, overseeing the full lifecycle of data projects.
- Serve as project manager for all team deliverables, ensuring alignment of priorities with project owners.
- Manage the team's workflow and project tracking, including creating and managing Jira tickets.
- Navigate and resolve challenging situations, including mediating disagreements within the team.
- Initiate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with vendors to support the team's tools and technologies.
- Oversee all direct report responsibilities, including conducting performance reviews and holding regular weekly 1:1 meetings.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of reliable, scalable data pipelines.
- Ensure the team automates and improves data infrastructure, focusing on blockchain data analytics.
- Foster a culture of best practices in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and security across the team.
- Identify areas for process improvements, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
