Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific discipline required; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in drinking water treatment engineering.
  • Practical professional engineer (PE) license required; license in one or more states preferred.
  • Ability to interact professionally internally and externally; relay technical information competently.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, regulations, and reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with and mentor junior and senior staff in water quality and treatment processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical process and water quality expertise for municipal drinking water treatment, water reuse, and advanced water purification.
  • Support client service managers and business development efforts as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Participate in project pursuits and interviews, developing treatment process innovations.
  • Guide, mentor and/or lead process design in feasibility studies, facility plans, and process pilot testing.
  • Guide the preparation of basis of design reports and preliminary engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Guide the development and/or quality control review of process flow diagrams and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Evaluate process performance and optimize operations of existing water treatment facilities.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations and present technical material at conferences.
  • Collaborate with Applied Research Group for research projects related to water quality.
  • Collaborate with private sector staff for projects related to industrial water quality.
