Requirements:

• A M.S. degree in forestry, applied forest ecology, or a related discipline.
• Experience conducting field work in forestry, forestry research, or forest ecology.
• Strong analytical experience including skills in remote sensing, GIS, spatial statistics, growth and yield modeling, data analysis, and econometrics.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research and analytical results with limited guidance, including experience in forest carbon accounting or reforestation.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills for creating strong relationships in a distributed team.
• Experience in a fast-paced, outcome-oriented environment and a passion for climate change.

Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on carbon removal by helping them understand the opportunities and risks associated with different methods of carbon removal across forestry systems.
• Develop carbon removal strategies and construct carbon removal portfolios.
• Conduct due diligence of forest carbon projects and lead due diligence teams to ensure adherence to quality criteria.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative assessments of co-benefits of forestry-related climate action.
• Conduct ongoing monitoring, reporting, and verification for long-term forest projects, including site visits.
• Contribute to data-driven efforts for identifying high-quality forest carbon projects.
• Write reports, policy briefs, and peer-reviewed publications, actively communicating findings.
