Staff ML Engineer, Remote Sensing

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, data science, or ML engineering, with a preference for closer to 10 years.
• Proven record of developing production quality data processing solutions that add business value.
• Strong understanding of ML methods including traditional and deep learning approaches.
• Expertise in Python and experience with array-based packages like xarray and numpy.
• Ability to scale complex data operations using distributed tools such as Spark or Dask.
• Experience in working with multispectral remote-sensing data.
• Collaborative mindset to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and maintain foundational scientific computing libraries for distributed processing of large-scale geospatial rasters.
• Build tooling to enhance the speed of machine learning progress on geospatial raster data, including rapid prototyping tools.
• Create experimentation and evaluation frameworks and develop robust ML pipelines from successful R&D.
• Work with data scientists to model predictions about the Earth’s crust compositions.
• Promote engineering best practices within the team.
