Requirements:
  • Prior experience in medical administration, scheduling, or insurance verification.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare insurance processes, pre-authorizations, and copay collection.
  • Experience with medical scheduling software (Athena is a plus).
  • Familiarity with Availity or similar insurance verification tools.
  • Comfortable working with electronic health records (EHR) and patient management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Professional, empathetic, and patient-focused approach to interactions.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with scheduling and managing telemedicine appointments.
  • Ensure patients receive necessary instructions and follow-up.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients.
  • Handle copay collection and ensure payments are processed correctly.
  • Utilize Availity or other insurance platforms to confirm coverage details.
  • Request and track referrals from primary care providers.
  • Process pre-authorizations for medical procedures and services.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider availability.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
