Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of accounting experience focused on multi-state Sales & Use Tax.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial statements.
  • Experience with AvaTax and CertCapture is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file multiple monthly Sales and Use Tax returns.
  • Review company records to determine Use Tax payments.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and reconcile sales tax payable accounts.
  • Maintain tax exemption and resale certificates.
  • Monitor sales thresholds for tax exposure.
  • Research tax issues and document positions.
  • Communicate with state agencies for registrations and resolutions.
  • Stay updated on sales tax regulations and present updates to management.
  • Assist in tax audits and enforce inventory tracking policies.
  • Perform month-end reporting and general accounting functions.
