Major in Communications, Public Relations or related field.
Completion of junior year.
Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Related coursework required.
Experience coordinating large projects or events preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical ability and strong organizational skills.
Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and good personal computer knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Full-time paid internship working alongside the Community Involvement Manager and Community Involvement Coordinator within the Marketing & Communications department.
Assists with EMC-sponsored community events, coordinating details with partner organizations, drafting communications, and securing event materials.
Maintains current list of volunteer opportunities for EMC team members and coordinates group volunteer activities.
Supports EMC’s United Way workplace campaign by planning and executing activities and developing a communications plan.
Performs other assigned work to support the larger Marketing & Communications department.
