Requirements:
  • Major in Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • Completion of junior year.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
  • Related coursework required.
  • Experience coordinating large projects or events preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical ability and strong organizational skills.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and good personal computer knowledge.
Responsibilities:
  • Full-time paid internship working alongside the Community Involvement Manager and Community Involvement Coordinator within the Marketing & Communications department.
  • Assists with EMC-sponsored community events, coordinating details with partner organizations, drafting communications, and securing event materials.
  • Maintains current list of volunteer opportunities for EMC team members and coordinates group volunteer activities.
  • Supports EMC’s United Way workplace campaign by planning and executing activities and developing a communications plan.
  • Performs other assigned work to support the larger Marketing & Communications department.
