Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy, Law, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications in environment, policy, or carbon management are an added advantage.
• 3+ years of experience in public policy affairs in environmental or sustainability sectors.
• Experience in analyzing complex regulatory developments related to carbon markets.
• Demonstrated expertise in climate change policy domains, including Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
• Experience conducting policy-oriented research for evidence-based recommendations.
• Track record of delivering impactful presentations.
• English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze regulatory and policy developments in Sub-Saharan Africa focusing on climate initiatives.
• Develop understanding of payment for ecosystem services and carbon-linked agroforestry programs.
• Comment on regulatory updates for advocacy positioning.
• Support development of country-specific advocacy strategies.
• Engage with stakeholders including policymakers and industry leaders.
• Organize industry events to influence supportive policies.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate carbon policy developments.
