Requirements:
  • Proficient at writing advanced Go and working with large Go codebases.
  • Excellent understanding of modern networking protocols and network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Familiarity with regular expressions.
  • Strong desire to understand backend operations.
  • Familiarity with SQL and querying large databases is helpful.
  • Proficiency with development tools and paradigms (Git, GitHub, CI/CD, etc.).
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to other Engineers.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in vulnerability intelligence is a bonus.
Responsibilities:
  • Write signatures to identify devices, services, and software based on the information extracted by the runZero scan engine.
  • Research new ways to identify devices and assets, adding those capabilities to the runZero platform by writing Go code.
  • Analyze network traffic and write network protocol parsers and probes in Go for integration into the runZero platform.
  • Stay up to date with the threat intelligence landscape to address relevant threats for customers.
  • Contribute to research reports, blog posts, conference presentations, and webcasts.
  • Act as a domain expert in security/networking for the organization.
