• Familiarity with using social media and Google trends to find stories.
• Ability to report on news in the Middle East impartially.
• Capable of working to tight deadlines.
• Experience and familiarity covering Middle East news and trends is desirable.
• Ability to read and speak Arabic or Farsi is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Research, source, pitch, and write several stories each day, including breaking news, original news, features, interviews, and exclusives.
• Obtain source and expert comments and utilize authoritative primary sources.
• Produce vibrant, concise, and clean copy to deadline.
• Monitor social media and Google Trends to identify stories and topics of interest.
• Ensure high-quality coverage that is accurate, fair, and conforms to journalism standards.
