Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong background in Canadian accounting and tax compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and payroll systems like Ceridian or ADP.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian GAAP, tax laws, and payroll regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian GAAP.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support client decision-making.
• Prepare and review GST/HST filings and ensure timely submission.
• Manage corporate tax returns and year-end tax filings in compliance with Canadian regulations.
• Assist clients with tax planning and advisory services.
• Process payroll for clients and ensure compliance with payroll laws.
• Act as a primary contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing expert financial guidance.
• Implement best practices in accounting workflows for efficiency.
