Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with active bar membership.
• Admitted to practice in California or Washington, D.C.
• Significant legal experience in U.S. corporate, nonprofit, government, and contract law.
• Demonstrable legal analytical skills and expertise in compliance with nonprofit laws.
• Experience advising senior management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to advancing DEI principles.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal advice and representation on compliance, governance, employment, and other legal matters.
• Ensure compliance with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) regulatory requirements.
• Lead the enterprise risk advisory team to identify and manage risks.
• Develop and deliver policies and training for legal compliance and risk management.
• Oversee outside counsel focused on nonprofit law and compliance.
• Advise functional leads on legal risks affecting their areas.
