Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience developing solutions involving vehicle diagnostics, OBD-II, CAN bus systems, and ECUs on embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded Linux systems and RTOS relevant to vehicle technologies.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and specific diagnostic protocols.
• Understanding of automotive cybersecurity practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and prototype new technologies in vehicle diagnostics, OBD-II, CAN bus systems, and ECUs, focused on embedded systems.
• Work with external technology and SoC vendors to evaluate technologies and influence their roadmaps.
• Collaborate with product teams to align technology exploration with product requirements.
• Develop solutions that integrate with modern vehicle systems, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and safety features.
• Integrate security considerations into all stages of product development.
• Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles.
