- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Experience building E-commerce products.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience building scalable systems (we primarily use Python, Elixir, JavaScript).
- Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution.
- Proven track record of delivering user-facing features. You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast.
- Experience working across the stack is nice to have, but not required.
- Good communication skills in both written and verbal English.
- Growth engineers at Whatnot are responsible for expanding our new user funnel across buyers and sellers to accelerate the rapid growth of our marketplace.
- We focus on the full funnel, developing opportunities to grow traffic across multiple channels while also creating delightful new user experiences to activate and retain buyers and sellers for the long term.
- In this role, you will build out our core Incentivized buyer growth strategy, including gamified incentives and offer experiences to continue to accelerate Whatnot’s rapid growth.
- As a lead engineer, you will design and implement our core incentive management system from the ground up.
- You will have big ownership and velocity in order to significantly impact the company top-line metrics.
