Requirements:
  • Spanish language proficiency required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, public relations, journalism, political science or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in journalism or public relations and/or legislative communications.

  • Familiarity with legislative processes is a must.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with press corps, engaging reporters on legislative issues.
  • Track and report media results and trends.
  • Coordinate with ACS Marketing & Communications staff.
  • Plan and manage media events.
  • Conduct media trainings for volunteers and staff.
  • Represent ACS CAN in coalitions for priority campaigns.
  • Help draft speeches and review materials for quality.
  • Identify and train spokespeople with personal stories.
  • Elevate ACS CAN's profile through media.
  • Collaborate with Multicultural Media Advocacy.
  • Manage media activities for fundraising.
  • Follow ACS CAN policies and perform other duties as assigned.
