Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, or business administration.
  • An accounting designation or studying towards one.
  • Experience with USA sales tax.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in a CPA firm or 7+ years in other roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of information packages for Federal, State/Provinces, local government, direct or indirect tax calculations.
  • Preparation of tax benefit program information packages.
  • Maintain and implement control systems, processes, and procedures for all tax transactions.
  • Provide information for company secretariat filings in USA and Canada.
  • Manage multi-company and multi-state USA sales tax return processes.
  • Ensure completion of multiple balance sheet reconciliations within deadlines.
  • Advise on VAT/GST/HST or other sales-based taxes worldwide.
  • Manage and action worldwide tax notices received by the company.
  • Support bi-annual worldwide calculation of income tax provision.
  • Assist with monthly or quarterly income tax installment payments worldwide.
  • Support budget and forecast initiatives.
  • Support the Revenue Team with invoicing and month-end reporting.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as required.
