Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Science, Engineering, or Industrial Design; MS preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Technical Art within the video game industry.
  • 3+ years as a Lead Technical Artist in AAA development using UE4/5.
  • Experience shipping at least 1 AAA Unreal Engine game in the last 3 years.
  • Deep understanding of modeling, texturing, shading, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, C#; experience in tool/library development.
  • Expertise in Maya; familiarity with other DCC packages.
  • Knowledge of current/upcoming content creation tools and plugins.
  • Experience optimizing performance for PC/console games.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Modified Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Helix Core (Perforce).
  • Strong math skills, including 3D math and analytic geometry.
  • Experience with shader architecture and commercial DCC or UE4/5 plugin development.
  • Experience developing games for 9th-gen consoles.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of tools and workflows for the Art team.
  • Mentor and support Technical Art staff using best practices.
  • Collaborate with Art/Animation Directors and Graphics Engineers.
  • Establish effective processes for game development.
  • Ensure stability and performance of content creation tools.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and processes.
  • Document tools and maintain knowledge base on Confluence.
  • Define requirements and assess technical art risks.
  • Contribute to high-quality cross-play products.
