UNPAID VOLUNTEER - English/French and English/Arabic Translator

Requirements:

• A relevant degree or training in Languages or Communications is preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• C1 or higher proficiency in English and Arabic.
• 2+ years experience as a Translator/Interpreter.
• Experience in providing virtual interpretation on appropriate platforms.
• Strong skills in written communication, editing, and proofreading.
• Close attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of Trello and Microsoft Teams.
• Some knowledge of climate change, climate finance, and blockchain technology preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Translation Manager and providing written translation and live interpretation during meetings with foreign stakeholders.
• Translating minutes, reports, and formal letters.
• Answering language-related queries and assisting developing country service users requiring language support.
• Cooperating with other volunteers on ad hoc projects.
