Senior Biologist

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in biology, wildlife ecology, fisheries ecology, botany, natural resources, or a similar field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.
• Strong writing, editing, and QA/QC skills.
• Familiarity with ESRI GIS applications.
• Experience in botany and knowledge of special status plants.
• Familiarity with typical linear utility construction.
• Experience with regulatory permitting within California.
• Highly organized, motivated, dependable, and trustworthy.
• Ability to interact and coordinate with various stakeholders.
• Possession of a Scientific Collecting or Federal 10a1a permit is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Compose and review biological technical reports.
• Lead and perform biological or chemical tests; interpret and evaluate the results.
• Provide technical review of literature related to biological issues and identify appropriate technologies.
• May give technical presentations on biological-related topics.
• Collaborate with member agencies and other organizations on biological issues.
• Evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations for biological monitoring and treatment programs.
• Conduct biological monitoring during construction activities.
• Train on laboratory and field procedures.
• Act as project manager, planning and coordinating projects.
• Complete site-specific planning and environmental assessments.
• Perform special status plant and wildlife surveys.
