Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Technical schooling is a plus.
5+ years of experience working with marine large bore diesel engines is preferred.
Strong experience with MTU engines is required.
Familiarity with MTU MCS/RCS electronics and Diasys software is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and insurable, must own a set of mechanic tools.
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Determine unit condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
Complete engine overhauls as well as other repairs identified during the diagnostic process.
Verify performance by conducting sea trials and making necessary adjustments as needed.
Maintain engine and vessel records with accurate documentation of service and repairs.
Communicate professionally with customers on-site and provide guidance to apprentice technicians.
Perform MTU engine commissioning trials.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
