Cloud Operations Lead

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in IT operations with a focus on cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing cloud operations or infrastructure management.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
• Experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience with security and compliance audits (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Good understanding of CI/CD tooling (Atlassian tooling, Jenkins, CircleCI) and GITOPS.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments and data pipelines.
• Manage day-to-day operations of cloud environments, including monitoring, incident response, and problem resolution.
• Oversee the deployment of cloud services, ensuring high availability, performance and SLAs.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the cloud operations team.
• Provide mentoring, guidance, and training to develop team skills and capabilities.
• Ensure all cloud operations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Drive infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
• Implement CI/CD practices to streamline operations.
• Build relationships with cloud service providers and manage contracts and SLAs.
