Requirements:

• 5 years or more of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business; Master’s degree is an asset.
• CPA, CMA, CIA or CFE preferred.
• Experience in public accounting, consulting, or industry related to operational accounting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• General ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and audit experience.
• Technical accounting experience is an asset.
• Outstanding knowledge of Excel and experience with various accounting software; Netsuite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
• Experienced in process improvement.
• Strong service orientation, time management, and project delivery skills.
• Strong communicator able to facilitate projects with stakeholders.
• Ability to develop solutions and strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to travel to clients as needed (approx. 30% of time).

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close process, maintain the general ledger and sub ledgers.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analyze account variances.
• Ensure appropriate application of US GAAP through transaction analysis.
• Direct operational accounting, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Perform variance analyses, partnering with leadership to monitor monthly results.
• Implement processes to streamline activities.
• Resolve issues impacting team performance.
• Collaborate on special projects including cost analysis and ERP implementations.
