Requirements:
  • MS/MA (or higher) with eight (8) or more years of work experience, or Bachelor's degree and 10 years of work experience, or 15+ years equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Established connections with U.S. agricultural industry, U.S. Department of Labor, and worker advocacy organizations.
  • Experience working in northern Central America and the United States on labor mobility.
  • Experience with foreign governments, International Development Agencies, International Financial Institutions, and Civil Society.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior representatives from public and private sectors.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Language Proficiency: English (IV) & Spanish (III).
Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategic approach to engage U.S. private sector in hiring temporary workers from northern Central America.
  • Identify and develop guides for improving stakeholder management within labor mobility units in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
  • Implement good practices for ethical recruitment and processing of eligible workers.
  • Coordinate public and private engagements to increase awareness of workforce availability.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts among industry representatives and NGOs.
  • Attend and organize events to connect northern Central American workers with U.S. employers.
