Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in law, human rights, international relations, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Specialized training or certification in gender studies or social inclusion is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in human rights advocacy, capacity building, and technical assistance.
  • Experience in justice sector reform, gender equality, social inclusion, preferably in conflict settings.
  • Extensive experience as a trainer, including training of trainers.
  • In-depth knowledge of international human rights standards and legal frameworks related to trafficking, slavery, and GBV.
  • Proven expertise in designing and evaluating capacity-building programs for justice sector professionals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Fluency in French is required; proficiency in English and local languages spoken in Mali is a plus.
  • Commitment to human rights principles and willingness to work in demanding environments.
  • Flexibility to travel within Mali and work remotely as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Team Leader to enhance justice sector capacities in Mali regarding human rights case management.
  • Develop training plans and materials with the National Institute of Judicial Training, focusing on sensitive approach to victim management.
  • Perform needs assessments to tailor capacity-building initiatives addressing gender and social issues.
  • Establish partnerships with stakeholders for collaboration in human rights and justice reforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate capacity-building activities for effectiveness and gender inclusivity.
  • Provide technical assistance to justice sector actors for sustainable capacity-building impact.
  • Advocate for policy reforms strengthening human rights legal frameworks.
  • Contribute to developing research papers and training manuals in human rights and inclusion.
  • Represent the organization in forums and conferences on human rights.
  • Monitor grant projects ensuring compliance and effective fund utilization.
  • Manage grants for CSOs to support human rights reporting and investigative journalism.
  • Strengthen CSO capacities for advocacy through targeted training on human rights standards.
  • Support Government institutions and CSOs in countering human rights abuses through training and reporting initiatives.
  • Develop a referral network for coordinated responses to human rights abuses.
