Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
• 1 year of experience developing and delivering ASL instructional content to adult learners.
• Experience teaching introductory ASL to hearing adults with no prior background in ASL or Deaf Culture.
• Ideally, the consultant should be a deaf, native user of the language.

Responsibilities:

• Design the course, course materials, and supplementary learning resources.
• Conduct pre-course planning meetings with USAID.
• Teach 1-hour weekly in-person classes for staff with a virtual component.
• Hold 30-min weekly online ASL office hours for individuals or small groups.
• Conduct a post-course closeout meeting with USAID.
