Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Punjabi interpreter.
• Exposure to medical, community, and legal interpreting scenarios.
• Proficiency in English and Punjabi.
• Certification in Interpreting from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and efficient Punjabi interpretation services across medical, community, and legal contexts.
• Facilitate communication between non-Punjabi speaking staff and Punjabi-speaking children.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and abide by all ethical guidelines and standards of interpreting.
• Assist with the translation of written materials as necessary.
• Promote awareness among staff about best practices for working with an interpreter.
• Be sensitive to cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
• Assist with scheduling, coordination, and other administrative tasks as needed.
