Requirements:

• 2-6+ years of related field litigation experience in insurance, defense, or personal injury.
• Juris Doctor degree.
• Admission to the Virginia Bar and must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Virginia.
• Able to travel as required for trials, hearings, and meetings.
• Ability to document files clearly and follow complex instructions.
• Strong organization, multi-tasking skills, and able to learn large amounts of technical information.

Responsibilities:

• Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
• Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial.
• Defending by trial or dispositive hearing all assigned matters.
