Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree is required.
• Admission to the New York Bar is required.
• Must have 2 to 6+ years of experience in litigation, specifically in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York and meet continuing legal education requirements.
• Must have strong organizational, priority setting, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities:

• Defending lawsuits filed in New York courts related to first party insurance defense.
• Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
• Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Defending by trial or dispositive hearing all matters assigned.
